FUNDING MODEL

We have chosen a funding model that is geared toward sustainability. Seed funding came from the LEVEDO Foundation in Switzerland, providing for the building of the facility, and cash flow for the first phase of the programme.

We have two-part funding strategy:

Pledge System & Donations

1. Pledge System
Each year, the Composers' Workshop stages three shows. The shows feature the work of both the composers and the students, and are recorded. These three recordings form the three album releases of the Composers' Workshop each year. These albums form the backbone of the Pledge system, and are also available for general sale online through Coffeebeans Routes.

We have South African and International Pledges.

SOUTH AFRICAN PLEDGES
R100 per month, for an annual pledge of R1200.
Payable by monthly debit order, or as a once-off annual payment.

INTERNATIONAL PLEDGES
20 euros per month, for an annual pledge of 240 euros.
Payable as a once-off annual payment, or monthly via a credit card transaction.

Pledgers receive the 3 albums per year of work from the Composers' Workshop, and invitations to attend the three annual shows, with dinner. This keeps the Pledger close to the work of the Workshop and its students.

In this way, with 200 pledgers per year, we can raise R360 000,00. We aim to be fully sustainable within two years.

2. Donations
There is also the option of making donations. This is a secondary revenue stream, to support the pledge system, and one that is pitched more specifically at the corporate world. Anybody, however, is welcome to donate.

We welcome contributions to the programme. All monies received go toward covering the costs of running the programme.
